🎓✨ Building Our College Corner! ✨🎓

Dr. Stockman’s 7th and 8th grade AVID scholars have been busy building our classroom College Corner and dreaming about all the possibilities ahead! 🏫📚

A huge THANK YOU to the colleges and universities that have generously sent us posters, pennants, information, and swag to help bring our College Corner to life. Every piece gives our scholars another opportunity to learn about colleges, explore careers, and imagine where their own futures might take them. 💙🎓

🩺🧬 A special shout-out to Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science for sending some amazing goodie bags! Our future doctors, nurses, scientists, researchers, and other medical professionals were especially excited to receive them!

In AVID, we want our scholars to know that college and career dreams can become real goals—and sometimes that journey begins with simply seeing the possibilities around them.

Thank you to everyone helping us inspire the next generation! 🌟

📐🐯 GEOMETRY SKILLS IN ACTION!

The 8th-grade scholars in Ms. Maique’s math class put their geometry skills to work by using the Pythagorean Theorem to solve for the diagonals of squares, rectangles, and trapezoids!

After finding the diagonal lengths, scholars took their learning a step further by analyzing and comparing the diagonals to determine whether they were equal or not equal for each shape.

Great job applying mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and critical thinking, Tigers! 🐯📏✨
