Austyn began his journey in the fire service as a Junior Firefighter in 2022, demonstrating a strong commitment to serving his community from an early age. In 2025, he officially joined Wax Fire & Rescue as a Firefighter Recruit and has continued to grow in knowledge, skill, and dedication.

Grayson County damage reports
Our office was out in the area of Broadford today completing damage assessments. If your residence was damaged in the storms on Tuesday July 21, please let us know so we can ensure we have completed an assessment for you. You can report damage to our email: [email protected] or call 270-259-5000 between 8 am and 4 pm. Please provide name, address, and if sending email, a few pictures.

With night fall upon us. There are power lines and trees down. Farmers is out working to get power restored.

Please avoid the Boardford Road area at this time.

Emergency crews are actively working to assess the area and conduct operations. To ensure the safety of responders and allow them to work efficiently, we ask that you avoid the area until further notice.

🎉🚒 Happy Birthday, Firefighter Joseph Whobrey! 🚒🎉

Today, everyone at Wax Fire & Rescue would like to wish Firefighter Joseph Whobrey a very Happy Birthday!

Joseph has proudly served in the fire service since 2020 and continues to be a valuable member of our department. In addition to being a dedicated firefighter, he is also an EMT, a Rope Rescue Technician, and our department's resident radio guru, always willing to lend his knowledge and expertise to keep our communications running smoothly.

Thank you, Joseph, for your dedication, hard work, and commitment to serving our community. We hope you have a fantastic birthday and a great year ahead!

🚒 Support Wax Fire and Rescue! 🚒

Wax Fire and Rescue is excited to announce our T-Shirt Fundraiser! All proceeds from this fundraiser will help offset the rising costs of much-needed equipment used to protect our firefighters and serve our community.

We are currently accepting pre-orders, and we'd love to have your support! Every shirt purchased helps us continue providing the best possible service to the citizens of the Wax community and surrounding areas.

Prices are as followed:
Youth sizes $18
XS-2XL sizes $20
3XL-5XL Sizes $24

We will do Pre-orders until July 18th. Get you orders in. We will make a post and call ones that made orders.

🇺🇸 4th of July Safety Reminder from Wax Fire & Rescue 🇺🇸

As we celebrate Independence Day with family and friends, we want everyone to have a fun and safe holiday weekend.

🚤 If you're spending time on the water: With water levels higher than normal, be extra cautious. Watch for both visible and hidden hazards that may be just below the surface. Always wear a life jacket and never operate a boat under the influence.

🚗 Share the road: Expect increased traffic throughout the community. Be patient, watch for pedestrians, motorcycles, bicycles, emergency vehicles, and golf carts.

🛺 Golf Cart Safety: Please don't overload golf carts. Make sure everyone has a safe seat and operate them responsibly.

🎆 Fireworks: If you're using legal fireworks, do so safely. Keep a safe distance, have a water source nearby, never allow children to handle fireworks without close adult supervision, and never relight a firework that fails to ignite.

📞 If an emergency happens, don't hesitate to call 911. Non-emergency call the Fire Station at 270-242-7541. Our firefighters and emergency responders are ready to help when you need us.
