•Keep pets indoors and do not walk them on hot pavement.

Early morning training! Some of our CCSAR team spent the early hours searching for a "missing person with injuries" in the woods. Continous training on perimeter searches, grid searching, compass navigation, first aid, splinting and victim extraction keeps us ready for real life circumstances. Thank you Gary DePew for letting us train in your woods!!! As always, today is a great day to join our volunteer team.

Crittenden County Search & Rescue is looking for a boat motor for one of our boats. We need a good condition 70 hp outboard motor to safely operate in deeper water and is compatible with our steering wheel system (remote steering). That will give the team 2 dependable boats. Having the right equipment allows our team to respond more quickly and safely during water rescues, searches, and emergency situations.

A life jacket is the most important piece of equipment on your boat. It only works if you’re wearing it. Unexpected falls, changing water conditions, and strong currents can happen in an instant—even to experienced swimmers.

Before you head out:
• Wear a properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket.
• Never boat under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Keep a close eye on children at all times.
• Check the weather before launching.
• Let someone know your float plan.
