It has been a busy few weeks celebrating the incredible success and achievements of our students, but today was the grandest of them all, Commencement. As Board President, I had the distinct honor and privilege of addressing and welcoming our graduates as they take the next step in their journey. I couldn’t be more proud of all they have achieved! For four years, 58 dedicated SEMHS students balanced their high school experience while completing two college courses each year at Río Hondo College—an amazing achievement that sets them on a strong path for the future. 🎓📚

I was proud to participate in the Shelter’s Right Hand 30th Annual 5K Walk in Whittier, supporting survivors of domestic violence and raising awareness for this important cause.
Along the route, I had the pleasure of connecting with Marco, a student from Rio Hondo College, whose enthusiasm and commitment to service is truly inspiring. It was also great to see to see my friend Lynda there cheering participants on.
