This fine Gentleman and his family did not travel all the way from Ghana, Africa just to catch the current '26 heavyweight champion, but catch it he did! 💪🌀⚡
Weighing in at a whoppin' 4.6 lbs! She was beautiful and no doubt will also be delicious with deep gratitude from all! 🙏🌀🙌🫡
She also earned their group a purt sweet volume discount 😉
Water levels are low at the moment and I've been getting better views of lake stock...I believe she can be topped 🤔.
Therefore! 🙌 The first person to hook and land one 4.7 #'s or better gets that single fish for free and it will still count toward a 10% discount on a minimum 10 #'s caught!

Gratefully blessed with a thus far better than average August weather pattern 🙏🌀🤗 Therefore fishing conditions are purt dang good currently! Due to CRAZY exp feed/fuel costs, I've been holding off on passing along for sometime, this Sat Aug 22 and Sun Aug 23 will be the last two "open" days for fishing at $8.50 per lb live weight. Beginning Monday Aug 24 the new price will be $9.50 per pound live weight.
Here's the Details that remain the same other than price. 🙌

"OPEN" Hours for fishing-
Saturdays - Gate opens at 9 am CENTRAL TIME and closes at 3pm CST
Sundays - Gate opens at 10 am CST and closes at 3 pm.

One of the most often asked questions (so,so many often asked questions...) is what's my fave way to cook trout. Well...this is the current champion de' trout culinary craft for this fish monger.
Here's the short of it-
Cornbread Crusted Trout Beyond Any Doubt! 💪🌀🙌
*Ingredients pictured (metaphysical curiosities optional)
*PAN cooked cornmeal used for tamales is key*
*Basically just throw that fillet in any baking type vessel with bit of olive oil, mix up the PAN meal with egg,milk just like cornbread (season with whateva does it for ya)
-coat that fish evenly with the mix
-Broil Hi until that thang uncovered till it looks bout right and dig it
*Further questions ignored till ya pick up ya trout (kinda the main ingredient)

Rainy Saturdays prior to school starting,college football kicking off and the long, slow grind of late summer (lawd that's become the longest/slowest grind 🙄)before blessed autumn kicks in 🙏🌀...are the best days for catching some trout for cookin'!!!

Good morning from the ranch and happy 3rd o'july! Crazy hot round these parts for a week runnin' and it shows big-time on the trout Fishin' lake. Trees draw more water to cool themselves just like we animals do...nature's purt straightforward 🤔
It's a relatively regular pattern these days of crazy heat,on/off/back on drought cycles, lots of rain occasionally...but often all at once 😅
Oh well...working on all that 😉🌀🙌
but for now , great day to come save a bunch of trout from running out of water!!! Therefore we'll be open regular hours tomorrow and Sunday (please see previous posts for hours /details) and since already have few groups scheduled fer Fishin' just gonna go ahead and call it a "open" Friday! So no rez needed, just grab the stuff and come help these shallow swimming fish out 🙌

Happy Father's Day from the ranch!
Here's a shot of the original Trout Daddies circa '63 shortly after the original version opened!
The ranch was built by dads, largely for dads and has been sharing fatherly common sense along the way 🙌...so here's some ☺️
It's Dad's day and based on being a dad and knowing many other dads...he doesn't really want to go out to that fancy lil bistro for "brunch" that you love so much and wanna share cause he needs more "fancy" in his life...🙄
He might enjoy doing something fun he likes to do or...he might just want a hug, be told how much he's loved and how awesome he is, then spend the rest of his day while everyone forgets he exists and disappears 😉
If option #2 is a better fit...give him whatever junk food, bottle, beverages , bag of real medicine that Mother Nature done grew herself so folks could connect with her, develop deep inner knowing, empathy and heal by doing so (not a bag of the fake sh*te created and pushed by greedy materialists spending millions on backdoor lobbyists for the express purpose of preventing real medicine from making them irrelevant 😉) or a handful of dollabills$ so Dad can get down to that "club" his buddies love but he's "never been to" 😆😎.
OR EVEN Better -bring him fishin and make some memories y'all can enjoy together! 🙌
Sunday we'll be open for just such a thing from 10 am CST till 3 pm CST.
Planning on smoking a pan or two trout to sample but, hey...I'mma dad also and busier than a one legged dad in a arse Kickin contest so don't hold me to it...

Happy Saturday! We have a bit of a roadblock gifted to us by last night's storm and it's a very big bit... Power is down and grateful to our local SVEC crews slangin' saws getting that going asap!🙏 Venturing a guess as to how long getting the power up and driveway passable would be pure speculation but likely a minimum couple of hours is ambitious 🤔
Therefore, if trout fishing is on your agenda today, prolly best to shoot me a text beforehand to make sure you can get down to the ranch to do so @ 423-718-0801 😉
