The Cranston Heights Fire Company is a non-profit, providing Fire, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services to Cranston Heights and surrounding area since 1919.

We are a combination fire department with primarily volunteers.

Please join us in congratulating Junior Firefighter Marquise Waller for graduating from the Delaware State Fire School’s Fire Academy. Throughout the past several months, Marquise has completed 168 hours of training on several topics, including structural firefighting, vehicle rescue, and hazardous materials mitigation. Additionally, Marquise now possesses certifications of ProBoard Firefighter I & II, HazMat Operations, and Vehicle Rescue Technician. Congratulations on this milestone Marquise.

This evening, the New Castle County Paramedics celebrated their 14th annual cardiac arrest survivor reunion.

This event allows survivors of cardiac arrest to meet the personnel and civilians who contributed to the success of early CPR and defibrillation that saved their lives.

New Castle County had over 700 cardiac arrests due to a fatal heart rhythm in 2025, with an over 11% success rate, above national standards, where the patient achieved ROSC, or Return Of Spontaneous Circulation, where then heart begins to beat on its own again.

Several of our crews had responded to incidents with successful cardiac arrest saves.

This evening, Joseph Haigh, Andrew Hatfield, Jezebel Marks, AJ McCarthy, Rian Salter, and Lt. Jakob Thomas were recognized, with two being able to meet their patient.

Lastnight the on duty staff was invited to the Mill Creek Fire Company - Stations 2&21 company meeting for a special presentation by Chief Lloyd. 2 of our personnel were recognized for their life saving efforts in removing a victim from a house fire in Mill Creek’s local earlier this year.
