🌞 Heat Safety Reminder from Wi******er Utility System 🌞

With high temperatures expected to continue across our area, now is a great time to take a few simple steps to stay comfortable while managing your energy use.

Summer peak energy hours are Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM Central Time (excluding holidays). During these hours, electricity demand is at its highest, so reducing energy use when possible helps lessen the strain on the electric grid.

Here are a few ways to help keep your home cool and your energy use in check:
💡 Close blinds or curtains during the hottest part of the day.
💡 Set your thermostat a few degrees higher when you’re away.
💡 Use ceiling fans to help circulate cool air.
💡 Run dishwashers, washing machines, and dryers during the early morning or later in the evening whenever possible, especially outside of peak energy hours (12:00 PM–8:00 PM).

Most importantly, take care of yourself and those around you:
💧 Drink plenty of water.
☀️ Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the afternoon.
👵 Check on elderly neighbors, friends, and family members.
🐾 Make sure pets have plenty of fresh water and a cool place to rest.

As your utility, Wi******er Utility System is proud to provide reliable electric, water, and sewer services every day. Thank you for doing your part to conserve energy during periods of extreme heat and during peak energy hours.

Stay safe. Stay prepared. Stay connected.
