💧 Backflow Awareness: Protecting Our Drinking Water 💧
Did you know that some businesses, irrigation systems, and facilities are required to have a Reduced Pressure (RP) Backflow Prevention Device installed on their water service?
An RP device helps protect our public water system by preventing contaminated water from flowing backward into the drinking water supply. This can occur when there is a sudden drop in water pressure caused by a water main break, firefighting activities, or other system demands.
Why are RP devices important?
✅ Designed to protect against high-hazard cross-connections
✅ Annual testing by a certified backflow tester helps ensure the device is functioning properly
✅ Regular maintenance and repairs help keep your water supply safe
At Wi******er Utility System, protecting public health is our top priority. Backflow prevention devices play an important role in maintaining safe, clean drinking water for everyone in our community.
