The Charter Commission will consider two citizen proposals regarding proposed changes to the Town Charter when it meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, at the Town Office, 17 Highland Ave. The meeting is open to the public, which may also participate via Zoom. The citizen proposals would change how School Board vacancies are filled and would require gender-neutral, role-based language in all official Town documents.

After considering the proposals, the Commission may consider approving its final report. The report and proposed changes are also available for viewing at the Town Office. Once the commission approves its final report, it will be presented to the Town Council on so councilors can call for the charter election to coincide with the Nov. 3 general election.

One of the three was also presented with a Maine EMS Phoenix Award for resuscitating a heart attack patient.
