Autumn is knocking on our doorstep and it seems like a quick transition from short sleeves to sweaters in the mornings and evenings.

To say that we had an exciting and eventful summer would be an understatement. We kicked it off with a hot WHS Graduation and were happy to be a part of America’s 250th celebration right here in Woodsville. Woodsville Ambulance once again staffed the entirety of the North Haverhill Fair, where we were able to operate out of the new First Aid room that was provided by the North Haverhill Fair. We provided medical coverage and a resting place at our station for multiple bicycle events over the summer. We wrapped up our summer events with attending the Mikey Williams Alumni Soccer Games.

Amongst all of the events and things taking place locally, our full time staff all had some opportunity to enjoy warmer weather. Some traveled and volunteered at summer camp, some went camping or traveling to beach areas and some of us hosted family that came to visit.

Delivery of a new ambulance was taken several weeks ago, replacing A1, our oldest ambulance in the fleet. The new A1 is red, this leaves us with two white and two red ambulances. Our crews are always happy to show you our equipment when you see us out and about.

We look forward to seeing everyone at soccer games and other fall events. Stay Safe!

Friends and community members: Please be sure to take extra precautions with the heat and humidity today and for the remainder of the week. Be sure to keep hydrated and keep those popsicles well stocked!

It’s looking like we are heading into some hot and muggy days with some storms and high wind this evening.

From your friends at Woodsville Ambulance - Stay Safe, Stay Cool, Stay Hydrated.

It was not an uneventful holiday for our crews yesterday. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to spend some time with community members between calls and staffing transfers.

We hope everyone had a safe and happy day celebrating our nations 250th anniversary. We hope to still be here helping our communities for the 500th anniversary of this great nation.

This morning, members of Woodsville Ambulance and our mutual aid partners gathered at the station for an EMS Week breakfast. We had a great turn out and a fantastic meal. It’s not often that many of us get to gather together at a slow non-emergent pace and spend time together eating and talking.

We would like to thank the crew of staff that worked hard to prep, cook and clean for today.

We would also like to thank:
-Katrina / PKK Custom Printing for the donation of these comfy blankets for staff members.
-Jamie Lynn’s Kitchen for the donation of potatoes and sausage.
-Pete & Gerry’s for all of the eggs.

A word from Renzo Chumbes, Director.

I am proud of the dedication of our team members who go above and beyond the daily shift duties. The patient care our team members provide are outstanding and we are always looking at ways on how we can improve the patient care we provide. We thank the past and present members who have shaped Woodsville Ambulance into what it is today!

We wish you a happy and safe EMS Week!

🚨 Public Service Announcement – Haverhill, NH 🚨

Tomorrow morning, Woodsville High School will be hosting a Mock Crash event to educate students about the dangers and real-life consequences of impaired and distracted driving.

This important training exercise will involve multiple emergency agencies, including:
• Haverhill Police Department
• Woodsville Fire Department
• Woodsville Ambulance
• DHART (Dartmouth Hitchcock Advanced Response Team) as long as they are not busy transporting patients
• Grafton County Sheriff’s Office
• Ricker Funeral Home
• Cottage Hospital

🚁 What to Expect:
Residents should be aware of a heavy presence of emergency vehicles and a helicopter in the Woodsville area during the morning hours.

⚠️ Please Note: This is only a drill. There is no cause for alarm.

Thank you for your understanding as we work together to promote safety and awareness for our community’s youth.

This week, area providers had a really fantastic training opportunity.
Robin and Heather from New Hampshire Department of Safety Division of Fire Standards and Training & Emergency Medical Services. Came north to give a classroom lecture as well as hands on scenario training on “The Subtle Symptoms of Cerebellar Stroke”

This was great in depth training on signs, symptoms and treatment for a type of stroke that may present differently than the typical/ most common indicators of a stroke.

Last evening we hosted a CPR First Aid class for the Grafton County Sheriffs. Throughout the country Police and EMS teams work closely together, and often. We respond to medical calls, welfare checks, lift assists, simultaneous calls, motor vehicle accidents, CPR in progress, mountain rescue and many others types of calls. We also appreciate the response of the police force when the safety of our EMS providers are at risk.
Keep up the good work!
