๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™ WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL, SVG! ๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡จ

As our children return to classrooms across St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the Ministry of the Family, Gender Affairs, Persons with Disabilities, Local Government and Labour encourages everyone to make this school year one where EVERY student feels welcomed, valued, respected and included.

๐ŸŒŸ Embrace Inclusion. Celebrate Differences. Support Every Learner.

Our schools are stronger when every child โ€”regardless of ability or circumstance - has the opportunity to learn, participate, make friends and reach their full potential.

To our students: You belong. You are valued. You can achieve! ๐Ÿ’™

To parents, teachers, school administrators and fellow students: let us create safe, accessible and welcoming spaces where kindness replaces bullying, differences are celebrated, and every learner has the support they need to thrive.
Different abilities. Same dreams. Brighter futures. ๐ŸŒˆ

Letโ€™s work together to build more inclusive schools and a more inclusive St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Strengthening Partnerships. Advancing Inclusion. Empowering Lives. ๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡จ

The Ministry of the Family, Gender Affairs, Persons with Disabilities, Local Government and Labour recently welcomed Mr. Andrew Sharpe, President of the Authentic Caribbean Foundation (ACF), for a three-day visit focused on strengthening support and advocacy for persons with disabilities in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The visit, held from August 26โ€“28, included high-level engagements with Government officials and a stakeholder forum with local disability organisations, with discussions centred on collaboration, networking, resource-sharing and sustainable advocacy.

A significant outcome of the visit was the donation of wheelchairs, walkers, commodes and other essential assistive devices by the Authentic Caribbean Foundation to support persons with disabilities and older persons across SVG.

The Ministry extends sincere appreciation to Mr. Sharpe and the Authentic Caribbean Foundation for this meaningful contribution and for their commitment to advancing dignity, independence and inclusion.

Together, through strong partnerships, we continue working towards a more inclusive society where every individual is recognised, respected and empowered to participate fully in society.

๐ŸŒฆ๏ธ STAY ALERT. STAY INFORMED. STAY PREPARED.

All residents are encouraged to remain vigilant as a tropical weather system over the Atlantic is being closely monitored for possible development.

At this time, no warning is in effect for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

However, now is the time to stay informed โ€” not alarmed.

โœ… Follow official weather updates from the SVG Met.
โœ… Rely on verified information.
โœ… Review your household emergency plan.
โœ… Avoid sharing unconfirmed reports.

Information and conditions can change. Stay connected to official sources for updates as they become available.

Preparedness begins with awareness. Letโ€™s stay ready, together. ๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡จ

Letโ€™s talk about adolescent health and well-being! ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’ฌ

The REACH Project is a regional initiative that seeks to improve adolescent health and well-being by promoting adolescent-friendly health services, strengthening communication between adolescents and the adults who support them, reducing stigma, and increasing awareness of issues affecting adolescent development through education and community engagement. As part of this initiative, a webinar series will be held from 14 July to August 2026, bringing together experts to engage adolescents, parents and guardians, healthcare workers, educators, and other interested stakeholders in discussions on adolescent health and well-being.

๐ŸŽญ As Vincy Mas reaches its grand finale, the Gender Affairs Division reminds us that respect never goes out of style.

Carnival is a time to celebrate our culture, our people and our freedomโ€”but it should never be a time for control, intimidation or abuse.

Healthy relationships are built on trust, respect and equality.

You're her partner, not her owner!

Let's make this Carnival one where everyone feels free to celebrate safely and with dignity.

๐Ÿฅค Before you hand them a drink... THINK.

Today, thousands of people are out enjoying Carnival. Let's all do our part to keep Vincy Mas safe.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง Parents โ€“ Know where your children are and don't allow underage drinking.

๐Ÿน Vendors & Adults โ€“ Don't sell or give alcohol to minors. Be mindful of elderly persons and persons with disabilities, and never encourage or pressure anyone to drink.

๐Ÿค Together, let's look out for one another and make responsible choices.

Good choices today create better memories tomorrow.

Let's keep Vincy Mas safe for everyone.

๐ŸŽญ Carnival Monday is about freedom, fun and celebration - not crossing boundaries.

Whether it's on the road, at a fete, or in a crowd, consent always matters.

"NO" always means NO. Not because of the time. Not because of the place. Not because of the costume.

Respect boundaries.
Respect consent.
Respect each other.

Let's make Vincy Mas memorable for all the right reasons.

๐ŸŽถ The vibes sweet... let's keep it so! ๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡จ

This weekend, enjoy the fetes, dance, laugh and celebrate - but remember, real vibes don't include abuse or violence.

โœ…๏ธ Respect each other.
โœ… ๏ธSupport each other.
โœ…๏ธ Keep our spaces safe.

Good vibes only. Leave abuse out of the party.
