Water Progress Update.
24 June 2026.

The 36-hour maintenance shutdown is ongoing. Areas such as Phelindaba, Rocklands, Vista Park and associated areas may not experience water supply interruptions, as reservoir levels in the southern parts of the city remain healthy and adequate to sustain the system during the maintenance period.

Further updates will follow as the maintenance activities progress.

Our maintenance team is hard at work ensuring that our sanitation network remains free of foreign objects that cause sewer spillages in our communities.

We are witnessing many of such challenges in and around our communities.

We plead with everyone to avoid flushing nor disposing into the sewer network items which may lead to sewer blockages. This is a health hazard that can be avoided.

We thank our sanitation team for their speedy response to this spillage.

Progress Update: 32 - Hours Water Notice.

Scouring of the main pipeline and the installation of the bulk water meter have both been successfully completed. Progress on the remaining planned activities is currently underway and teams remain on site to ensure completion of all outstanding work.

Further updates will be communicated as activities progress.

EMERGENCY NOTICE: Water Supply Interruption
22 June 2026.

Residents of Heuwelsig, Dan Pienaar and associated areas are advised that water supply may be interrupted due to emergency repairs on a pipe burst at the Heuwelsig Pump Station.

We apologise for the inconvenience. Water supply will be restored as soon as repairs are completed.

Our Bulk Team has been hard at work ensuring full restoration of water supply in Section A. We want to send a strong warning message to those fiddling with municipality water valves to stop it. Fiddling with water valves only put communities in difficulties and disturbs normal day to day life.

Measures to be put in place to ensure there won't be any tempering with water valves going forward.
