The Department of Tourism invites experienced chefs in KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape to apply for the Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL) Programme for Chefs.

✅ Tuition and study materials fully funded by the Department of Tourism
✅ Obtain a National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Level 5 Chef Occupational Qualification
✅ Designed for chefs with at least 3 years of industry experience who do not yet hold a formal qualification

✅ Receive guidance on business compliance requirements and permit processes.
✅ Engage directly with key stakeholders and government departments that support small businesses.

Today, as we commemorate Youth Day 2026 under the theme “RESET@50 – The Future Calls” and the slogan “Our National Commitment to the Future, for Freedom Lives in Every Generation,” we honour the brave young heroes of the 1976 Soweto Uprising whose courage and sacrifice paved the way for the freedoms we enjoy today.

As we mark the 50th anniversary of this historic milestone, we are reminded that the future of our nation rests in the hands of a dynamic, innovative, and resilient generation of young people.
