RE: TEMPORARY WATER SUPPLY DISRUPTION: BOSKOP DAM CANAL MAINTENANCE

The JB Marks Local Municipality hereby informs all residents within the Tlokwe Region that the Department of Water and Sanitation is currently undertaking planned maintenance to clean and service the canal that supplies raw water from Boskop Dam.

During this maintenance period, raw water is being supplied through an alternative canal. However, this canal is currently delivering reduced water volumes due to blockages and debris accumulation. The absence of screening infrastructure on the canal has contributed to restricted water-flow. As a result, the Municipality is experiencing a significant impact on water supply, with critically low reservoir levels recorded across all reservoir complexes. Several areas have already reported low water pressure and intermittent or no water supply. The Municipality is in ongoing communication with the Department of Water and Sanitation regarding the situation and will continue to provide updates as further information becomes available.

RE: TEMPORARY REDUCTION IN WATER PRODUCTION: VENTERSDORP REGION

The JB Marks Local Municipality wishes to notify all residents in the Ventersdorp Region that, a section of the Older Treatment Phase at the local Water Treatment Plant is currently out of operation due to a pump malfunction.

This technical failure has resulted in reduced raw water abstraction, which has consequently affected the volume of treated water being supplied to communities within the Region. Residents may therefore experience low water pressure and intermittent water supply interruptions. The Municipal Technical Team is currently on site working diligently to diagnose and repair the fault as quickly as possible. Every effort is being made to restore normal operations and stabilise water supply as the Municipality continues to monitor the situation closely We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate patience of all affected residents.

RE: TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CONTROL ON SOOLIMAN STREET

The JB Marks Local Municipality hereby informs residents, businesses, and road users that temporary traffic control measures will be implemented on Sooliman Street, to facilitate the upgrading of the Mohadin-Poortjie Sewer Line.

To ensure the safe and efficient ex*****on of the works, only one (1) lane of Sooliman Street will be open to traffic during construction hours. The sewer pipeline will be installed adjacent to the roadway, necessitating the temporary occupation of approximately half of the road by the contractor.

Construction Schedule

Start Date: Monday, 1 June 2026
Working Hours: 09h00 -17h00 daily
Completion Date: Tuesday, 23 June 2026

Areas Affected

The temporary traffic control measures will impact residents and road users in:

* Mohadin
* Ikageng Extensions
* Through traffic travelling via Mohadin

Motorists are advised to exercise caution, adhere to all temporary traffic management measures, and allow for possible delays during the construction period.

Please note that: Sooliman Street will be fully reopened to normal traffic flow after 17h00 each day.
