✍️ How can climate forced displacement be prevented through anticipatory action? Jolly, Project Officer for the Rabat Process, discusses how anticipatory action – grounded in evidence, equity, and cooperation – can ensure access to safe, regular and dignified mobility pathways; while strengthening resilience and advancing climate justice.
📌 Climate change has reshaped human mobility on an unprecedented scale: approximately 250 million people have been triggered by weather-related disasters in the past decade, and up to 216 million are projected by 2050.
📌 Climate change also intersects with pre-existing vulnerabilities and generates a continuum of mobility and immobility outcomes – from adaptation in place to crisis-driven displacement.
