Write Around the Murray is celebrating 20 years with five days of author talks, book launches, workshops, live music, film, photography, poetry and more across Albury-Wodonga.

Start the festival with us tomorrow at 11am at Albury LibraryMuseum for the official launch featuring Carly Findlay and Adrian Beck.

Many events are free, but don't leave it too late. Most sessions require bookings and some have already sold out.

⚠️ Upcoming Inland Rail works in Albury

Construction crews will be working continuously from 6pm Friday 11 September to 11.59pm Tuesday 15 September at locations including Albury Station, the Riverina Highway bridge and the Billy Hughes bridge.

You may notice:
• Construction noise and vibration
• More heavy vehicles in the area
• Temporary traffic management and reduced speed limits near worksites

NSW has 20 events of H5 bird flu.

These event detections have mostly been in the South Coast area of NSW, in greater crested terns.

There are new events in greater crested terns at Callala Bay, Port Kembla and Warriewood, and in a Hutton's Shearwater in Corindi, near Coffs Harbour.

Not sure what to do with an empty gas bottle or butane canister?

Instead, take them to the Albury Waste Management Centre for safe disposal and recycling.

Carols by Candlelight is moving to Noreuil Park Oval! 🎅🎄🎁

While works continue at the Albury Entertainment Centre, this year’s free community celebration is heading to a new home.

Join us on Thursday 17 December for a free night of live entertainment, food, Christmas cheer and festive fun, with plenty of open space for families and friends to gather.

Located close to the heart of Albury and the Murray River, Noreuil Park Oval will give this year’s Carols a whole new feel ♥️

Applications for auditions have now closed, with auditions taking place in the coming weeks.

Food packaging is the third biggest category of litter (16.9%), according to Clean Up Australia’s FY25 NSW Litter Report. Most of this litter starts life as takeaway packaging, used once then discarded.

Choosing to dine in avoids the items most likely to end up in our streets, parks and waterways.

A simple switch that’s good for all of us.

The new David Street taxi rank is now operating 🚕

Located next to the car park behind Regent Cinemas, opposite the Myer entrance, the rank replaces the Olive Street location.

A taxi rank in Dean Street, near The Globe Hotel, also services the C*D.

A taxi zone will also be placed in front of Chemist Warehouse on Olive Street for quick pick-up and drop-off.

Works to improve parking arrangements and safety along Olive Street will begin in October.
