“Now. Urgent. Final notice. Immediate action required…”

Scammers create a sense of urgency, so you feel pressured to click, pay or respond straight away. But you can always stop and check first.

🛑Stop: don’t let urgency push you into action.
✔️Check: verify the message through official channels.
🛡️Protect: call your bank if you’ve been scammed and report it to Scamwatch.gov.au

There’s just under a week left to have your say on Albury’s next Disability Inclusion Action Plan.

We want to hear from people with lived experience of disability, along with community members, organisations and service providers. Your feedback will help set clear actions to improve access and inclusion across our city.

The consultation closes Sunday 14 June.

Complete the survey online, or pick up a hard copy at community centres, libraries or our Kiewa Street office. Support is available to complete it over the phone or in person.

Have your say:

E-waste: what is it and where does it go?

E-waste is anything with a plug, battery or cord that you no longer use. Think phones, laptops, TVs, chargers and small household electronics.

Don’t put it in your bin 🚫🗑️
Batteries can start fires in collection trucks and at landfill.

There’s value in it 💡
E-waste contains materials like gold, silver, nickel and copper that can be reused.

What to do instead ✅
Drop batteries and e-waste off at the Albury Waste Management Centre for safe recycling.

Today is World Environment Day!

Across Albury, our rivers, wetlands and woodlands support native plants and wildlife that make this place what it is.
Looking after these spaces comes down to the small choices we make every day, at home and out in the community.

Here are some simple ways you can help:
🌱 Set up a battery collection point at home using a glass jar and sticky tape
🌱 Choose reusables, like taking a keep cup
🌱 Turn electrical items off at the wall when not in use
🌱 Put a simple guide near your bins
🌱 Drop off items like gas bottles, batteries, paint and oils at the Waste Management Centre for recycling
🌱 Register for soft plastics recycling with Halve Waste
🌱 Keep recycling loose in your yellow lid bin, no bags
🌱 Pick up a piece of litter on your next walk
🌱 Stick to tracks when visiting reserves
🌱 Dine in instead of takeaway when you can
🌱 Repair something instead of replacing it
🌱 Visit a repair café
🌱 Pass on items you no longer use

, choose one thing and start there.
