Our Prep students have been exploring how feedback can help improve their reading fluency. They have been practicing reading aloud, listening carefully, and using teacher and peer feedback to become more confident and expressive readers. It’s been wonderful to see their growth as they build skills that support a lifelong love of reading!

On Friday, a small group of students visited the University of Tasmania’s The Forest campus to participate in a workshop organised by the Island Readers and Writers Festival. The workshop, Telling Stories with Collage: People and Other Weird Creatures, was facilitated by the Story Island Project. Throughout the day, students took part in a range of engaging activities designed to build creativity and inspire imaginative storytelling.

During the day, students were fortunate to have visits from local artist Leigh Rigozzi and acclaimed Australian author and illustrator Shaun Tan. By the end of the workshop, the walls were filled with vibrant galleries showcasing work students had created both collaboratively and individually.
