Community pharmacies are often the most accessible healthcare destination for Territorians, providing advice, vaccinations, medicines support and care for a range of everyday health concerns.

Thank you to COTA NT for helping raise awareness of the services available through local community pharmacies and encouraging Territorians to think about the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

THINK PHARMACY FIRST | With NT emergency departments continuing to face pressure from patients requiring urgent and complex care, COTA NT is encouraging Territorians to consider whether their local community pharmacy may be able to help with less serious health concerns. Read the full release ๐Ÿ‘‡

Movember has launched their Men in Mind for Pharmacists course, a free, evidence-informed CPD course designed to help pharmacists better engage with men and support improved health outcomes.

Community pharmacists are often the most accessible healthcare professionals, placing them in a unique position to recognise when someone may need additional support and help connect them to appropriate care. This self-paced training provides practical tools and communication strategies that can help pharmacists build trust, start sensitive conversations, and keep men engaged in their healthcare journey.

Through the course, participants will learn how masculinity and life-stage transitions can influence health behaviours, recognise barriers that may prevent men from seeking care, and apply the MALE Framework to everyday pharmacy interactions.
โœ…Self-paced (approx. 2 hours) and access available for 3 months after registration
โœ…Evidence-informed and developed with pharmacist input
โœ…Practical tools for real-world pharmacy settings
โœ…Focused on improving engagement and health outcomes for men

Men are more likely to engage in care when they're met where they are. This course aims to give pharmacists the confidence and skills to make those important connections count.
