Why You Should Never Relocate an Echidna 🦔

We know it can be tempting to “help” an echidna by moving it somewhere you think is safer BUT relocating them can actually do far more harm than good.

Echidnas have small home ranges that they know very well, Every log, burrow, and ant nest! When moved away from their territory, they become disoriented and struggle to find food, shelter, and safety. Sadly, many relocated echidnas don’t survive.

Even more heartbreaking if you move a mother echidna, you may unintentionally starve her baby (called a puggle). Mothers often leave their young safely hidden in a Den while they forage, and if she can’t find her way back, the baby will not survive. 💔

If you see an echidna on the move:

🚗 If it’s crossing the road, stop safely and wait for it to pass.

🦺 If it’s in danger, gently encourage it away from the hazard (only if it’s safe for you to do so).

📞 If it’s injured, contact your local wildlife rescue or vet immediately.

Remember: echidnas are best left where they are they know exactly what they’re doing! 💚

Don’t put this s**t up in your garden - please.
Small lives are at risk
We are Australian 🇦🇺
Why are you celebrating something you don’t even understand ?!??

Those stretchy fake spider-web decorations may seem fun… but for birds, bees and other beneficial insects, they become hidden traps. Every year, many songbirds and crucial pollinators get caught in them, struggle for their lives, and perish.

This season, let’s keep Halloween spooky for the right reasons—not by endangering the innocent wildlife around us. Pick safe décor and let real magic thrive.
