This afternoon officers from the South Lakes Neighbourhood Policing Team have been on Coniston Water carrying out joint patrols with Lake Rangers from the Lake District National Park. During the joint patrols a red Jet Ski was stopped following reports by members of the public on numerous occasions of it being ridden recklessly at excessive speeds and putting other lake users at risk. Details of the two male occupants riding the Jet Ski were obtained with a view of prosecuting the pair.

During the joint patrols another Jet Ski was witnessed to be driving at excessive speed and was stopped and spoken to by Lake Rangers and NPT officers. Details of the rider obtained who will now receive a warning letter in the post advising them that they may be prosecuted if they are again witnessed riding in a anti-social manner.

We will continue to work with the Lake Rangers within the area to keep the public safe and identify any further inconsiderate riding on the lakes.

2666 👋

💘 “I can’t stop thinking about you… I’ve never felt this way before.”
✈️ “I was meant to fly over this week, but something’s come up…”
💬 “I just need a little help – I’ll pay you back, I promise.”

Sound like a love story? ❤️
For thousands of people, it starts exactly like this…

📊 The reality:

Over £106 million was lost to romance fraud in the UK in a single year
Nearly 9,500 reports were recorded in 2024/25 alone
Victims lose around £11,000 on average
And many more cases go unreported due to embarrassment or stigma

💡 Romance fraud isn’t just about money.
It’s about trust, emotion, and manipulation.
Criminals can spend weeks or months building a relationship, making it feel real, before asking for money, personal details, or both.

🚩 Spot the signs:
The relationship moves very quickly
They avoid meeting or video calls
They always have a reason they “can’t visit”
They ask for money, gift cards, or financial help

If this has happened to you: you are NOT to blame.
Fraudsters are highly skilled and target anyone.
You will be believed, supported, and taken seriously.

Speak to police or Action Fraud
Reach out to Victim Support
Talk to someone you trust

🚔 Love shouldn’t cost you your savings or your safety.

Good afternoon- we are calling on our community (particularly Kendal) to assist us.

In June last year, a male was arrested in Kendal for a number of theft offences - One of the items recovered was an electric bicycle.

We know this bicycle was stolen and we're keen to track down the owner we reached out at the time and someone came forward but did not return. If you believe this bike is yours please contact 101, provide your details for the Kendal NPT team please provide proof of ownership.

Police incident log; CP-20250607-0146 refers.

Naturally we will need proof of ownership.

If this bike is unclaimed, we may add it to our fleet and one of our CBOs can re-enact a scene from "Call the midwife".

Please share this post far and wide - lets get this property back to where it belongs!

Thank you!
