๐Ÿ‘‹ Staff Spotlight - Meet Conan Williams!

Welcome to the newest member of the Litchfield Council team, Conan Williams our Recreation Reserve Liaison Officer.

In this new role, Conan will be the friendly face helping to keep our recreation reserves looking their best. From minor repairs and maintenance to working with community groups and reserve committees, he'll be out and about across the municipality supporting our parks and reserves.

A proud Territorian, Conan's career started as a boilermaker and welder before spending more than 10 years with Bushfires NT in a range of roles, including fire management, training and compliance. His experience working with volunteers, landholders and communities across the Territory makes him a great fit for the role.

When he's not at work, Conan enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, a collection of pets and making the most of the great outdoors - especially if it involves a fishing rod! ๐ŸŽฃ

Be sure to say hello if you see him around! ๐Ÿ‘‹

โ™ป๏ธ From green waste to cash for containers - Litchfield is recycling BIG! ๐ŸŒฟ

Every bottle recycled, battery dropped off and trailer of green waste sorted correctly helps keep our community cleaner and more sustainable ๐Ÿ™Œ

Hereโ€™s a snapshot of what was diverted from landfill in 2024โ€“2025 ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐ŸŒฑ 7,827mยณ of green waste processed for resale
๐Ÿ”ฉ 1,148 tonnes of scrap metal recycled
๐Ÿ’ป 45 tonnes of electronics recycled through TechCollect
๐Ÿ›ž๐Ÿ”‹๐Ÿ›ข๏ธ 101.6 tonnes of tyres, batteries & oil recycled
๐Ÿฅค 20.4 tonnes collected through Cash for Containers

All proceeds from recycled materials fully fund our Community Grants Scheme, which last financial year raised $87,754 for worthy causes.

Our Waste Transfer Stations at Humpty Doo, Howard Springs and Berry Springs make it easier for residents to recycle responsibly and reduce landfill waste โ™ป๏ธ

Small actions make a big difference. Thanks to everyone doing their part for future generations ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿšœ๐ŸŒฟ Big jobs, long roads and plenty of grass!

Our Mobile Workforce team is flat out every year keeping Litchfield looking its best across more than 3,000 square kilometres of Council land and hundreds of kilometres of roads ๐Ÿคฏ.

Hereโ€™s what they tackled in the last financial year ๐Ÿ‘‡

- 2,408 hours of slashing
- 1,806 hours of mowing
- 1,378 hours of w**d spraying
- 340+ sign replacements
- 650+ guidepost repairs & replacements
-๏ธ 1,206 bags of litter collected.

And thatโ€™s not allโ€ฆ the team also cleaned up dumped tyres, mattresses, fridges and other bulky waste to help keep our community safe, clean and accessible ๐Ÿ™Œ

A massive shout out to our hardworking Mobile Workforce crew who work year-round to keep Litchfield maintained and moving ๐Ÿ‘.
