Today, the Ross Hill Chess Team travelled to Glen Innes to compete in the Zone Tournament Chess Competition. Our students represented the school with outstanding skill, enthusiasm and sportsmanship, earning praise from staff and students from other schools.

♟️ In a nail-biting finish, Ross Hill Team A won the tournament by just half a point! 🎉 Team A will now progress to the regional competition!

The day was a wonderful opportunity for students to connect with others who share a passion for chess and build new friendships. We were incredibly proud to see students encouraging one another and congratulating their opponents throughout the day.

Congratulations to all members of the Ross Hill Chess Team on their fantastic efforts and for representing our school so positively. We wish Team A the very best at the regional competition! 👏♟️🏆

Not every success in a school can be measured as an academic score.

Today I celebrated with a student so much transformation. Boosting attendance from below 40% to above 90%, developing friendships, connection with teachers and a true bond with our admin and support staff. To see a student coming out of their shell and smiling at school, and joining in on social activities and play - it's life shaping and worth every effort and toil to gain these results.

The student has made her own commitments to being at school and not having excuses to stay home, her family have leant in with support and encouragement of her and the results are now evident. Staff have accommodated needs and made adjustments, all allowing the student to feel valued and respected.

Thanks to our amazing team of staff for all the support. And accolades to this young lady for being a success.

Today, our rugby league team competed in the Classic Shield PSSA Knockout competition at Kamilaroi Oval.
After a bye in Round 1, we faced Inverell Public in Round 2 in a hard-fought match, emerging victorious with a close score of 32-30. In Round 3, we took on another strong team, Moree Public. Our team worked hard and secured a convincing win, 38-22.
Well done to all players for a fantastic day of footy!
Thank you to the NRL Development Officers for organising the day, and to Uncle Preston and Miss Murray for their ongoing support of our players.

Congratulations to all students who competed at the North West Cross Country Trials in Coolah today! Ross Hill had a large representation and did our school and Inverell Zone proud!

It was a day full of 7’s for our school. Nell 7th, Jasmine 7th, Maddie 7th and Christy Lee 7th in their age event’s. They all qualified as 1st reserve for the North West team.

Special congratulations to Cody who finished 4th, gaining selection in the North West team.

A big thank you to parents and carers for making the big journey out to Coolah!

Congratulations to our Ross Hill students for their spectacular performances and superb behaviour at the Eisteddfod last week! 🙌 Every student from Kindergarten to Year 4 sang in their year level choirs, including a beautiful solo by Alesi in the Stage 1 Choir! 🎶
It was also the Eisteddfod debut for The Sapphire School Singers, with students from Ross Hill, Inverell Public and Bundarra Central School singing together. 🎼
Ross Hill also had 4 Arts Electives groups performing, then combining with our IPS friends to make Purple music magic together in Uke and djembe! Congratulations to our Uke Club, Poet Performers, Primary Choir and Rhythm Power Blue.
Thankyou to families for dropping your elective students to the Town Hall early on both days for our only practices together. There was fabulous camaraderie between the students and also friendly competition on stage! Best of all was the teamwork and spectacular performances, but the results were great too. Here they are:
