Grade 6 have been completing an English reading and writing novel study based on the book A Ghost in my Suitcase by Gabrielle Wang.

To support our understanding of the text we have explored the setting of the book, Shanghai and made collages of the city. We have also learnt about Chinese symbols, before exploring how symbols are used in Australian culture. We applied this knowledge to create our own symbols that represented us.

Wet and muddy conditions did not dampen the Latrobe Primary School spirit yesterday at the All Schools State Cross Country event at Symmons Plains. 🏃🌧️☂️
Congratulations to all of our students who showed up and ran yesterday; proving again that doing hard things is where the magic happens! 🪄
All of our students are to be commended on their exemplary behaviour and how they showed grit and determination. 🌟🌟
Well done LPS!👏👏

Every morning, our Grade 1/2 students begin their day with 30 minutes of UFLI — a structured literacy program that helps build strong skills in phonics, decoding, spelling, and reading fluency.
Through engaging, explicit lessons, students are developing the knowledge and confidence they need to become successful readers and writers. We are so proud of the enthusiasm, effort, and growth our learners are showing each day!
Take a look at some snapshots of our students learning, practising, and having fun during UFLI. ⭐📖✏️

Our students put in a fantastic effort at the Interprimary Cross Country today! They showed determination, perseverance and great sportsmanship as they tackled the course.

We are incredibly proud of the way they represented our school, encouraged their peers and gave their best from start to finish. Well done to all runners on a wonderful achievement! 👏🌟
