๐Ÿš’ Fire Rescue Moama recently attended a rubbish fire after a rubbish truck was forced to dump its load due to a fire inside the truck.
This is a timely reminder for everyone to take extra care with what goes into household bins. Items such as batteries, hot ashes, chemicals, and other hazardous materials can easily ignite and cause serious fires, putting waste workers, emergency services, and the community at risk.
Please ensure hazardous items are disposed of correctly and never placed in your household rubbish bin. A little extra care at home can help prevent dangerous incidents like this.

Tonight our crew is undertaking a low-visibility search and rescue training exercise.

Working in dark, smoke-filled conditions is physically and mentally demanding, but itโ€™s essential preparation for real emergencies. Drills like this ensure weโ€™re ready to respond safely, effectively, and as a team when it matters most.

We train for every scenario so we can be there for our community when needed. ๐Ÿš’

Lest We Forget.
Today, on ANZAC Day, we pause to honour the courage, sacrifice, and mateship of all those who served and gave their lives for our country.
Their legacy lives on in the freedoms we enjoy and the values we carry forward each day.
We remember their bravery.
We remember their sacrifice.
We remember them.
Lest We Forget.

Moama Fire Rescue were called to a bushfire this morning. Upon arrival, crews found a significant amount of dry leaves and bush matter contributing to the fire.
This is a timely reminder to our community that conditions are still high risk. Open fires are not permitted without the appropriate approvals, and permits are required before lighting any fire.
Please stay vigilant, follow regulations, and help keep our community safe.

๐Ÿš’ Welcome to the Team, Rhys! ๐Ÿš’

Weโ€™d like to give a big welcome to one of our newest members, Rhys, who has recently joined the Moama Fire Rescue Station.

Rhys has completed all of his training within the brigade and comes to our station with a wealth of knowledge and experience.

From the moment he arrived, he has shown the qualities that make a great firefighter dedication, a strong work ethic, and the willingness to listen, learn and support the team around him.

Rhys is someone who leads by example. Heโ€™s always ready to step up, take on a challenge, and continue improving his skills so he can better serve the community.

His positive attitude and commitment to the job make him a fantastic addition to the station, and weโ€™re proud to have him as part of our crew.

Firefighting is all about teamwork, training and supporting one another, and Rhys embodies exactly what we look for in a firefighter. We know heโ€™ll continue to be a valuable member of the brigade for years to come.

If youโ€™ve ever thought about getting involved in your local brigade, people like Rhys show just how rewarding it can be.

Please join us in welcoming Rhys to the team! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ”ฅ
