Library Closure Notice – King’s Birthday Public Holiday

Muswellbrook and Denman Libraries will be closed on Monday 8 June.

Muswellbrook Library reopen from 10am Tuesday 9 June. Denman Library will reopen from 9:30am Wednesday 10 June.

Muswellbrook and Denman Libraries’ returns chutes will be available during this time for any returns.

Monday:
Join us for Rhyme Time from 10am Monday morning at Muswellbrook and Denman Libraries. Sing some songs and join in some stories.

Tuesday:
Join us in the morning at Muswellbrook Library as we wriggle and rhyme at Circle Time from 10am.

Wednesday:
Pull up a loop with the Upper Hunter Casual Crochet Crew! Come along and share your skills, ideas and crochet tips in a social setting over a cuppa from 10am at Muswellbrook Library.

Take part in Denman Library Book Club from 1:15pm. This month our Book Club will discuss 'The Storm' by Rachel Hawkins and borrow their next book ‘Margaret, Are You Leaving?’ by Dianne Yarwood. Limited print copies are available upon request from Denman Library.

Thursday:
Join us at Muswellbrook Library for Story Time from 10am, join in with songs, stories and hands on crafts.

Our activities are inclusive. Please contact Muswellbrook or Denman library if you would like to discuss any supports for your family prior to attending.

All children under the age of 13 must be supervised by a parent or carer at all times.

Book Club at Denman Library 📚

Wanting to meet new people that share your love of reading? Join or start a book club at your local library!

Denman Library's Book Club meet monthly on the first Wednesday of each month from 1:15pm. Members will discuss the previous title and collect this month's title.

This month's title is ‘Margaret, Are You Leaving?’ by Dianne Yarwood.

📖 Sydney, 2001. Now in her forties, Maggie Reid has built a good life for herself, surrounded by good people. She has an adorable but needy dog and a new relationship. She has tried hard to leave her painful past behind her, but when her beloved brother Lucas calls with news of their adopted mother's death, he also delivers a bombshell about Maggie's birth mother.

National Simultaneous Storytime was full of fun, laughter, cheering and plenty of action yesterday at Muswellbrook and Denman Library branches.

Join us for National Simultaneous Storytime 2026 (NSS) as we come together to read Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd, illustrated by Jake Minton and published by Little Book Press. Cheer for Luna Roo as she finds her inner strength on the field in this energetic underdog story!

NSS 2026 will take place on 27 May 2026 at 12:00pm AEST at Muswellbrook and Denman Libraries.

NSS is one of the Australia’s most beloved annual reading events, bringing together millions of children, families, libraries, schools and early learning centres to share the same story, at the same time, right across Australia.
