💙🔥 COURAGE COMES IN MANY FORMS — AND EVERY STEP COUNTS 🔥💙

Are you a Jai Arrow supporter? Have you been inspired by the incredible courage and determination he continues to show throughout his MND journey?

🔋 IT’S TIME TO CHECK YOUR BATTERIES! 🔥🚗

It appears the batteries in the invisibility cloak have finally run out of charge… 👻🔋

After being stolen back in 2017, this Audi recently reappeared in spectacular fashion — unfortunately, after finding itself on fire. 🔥

While we can’t recommend a good battery supplier for invisibility cloaks, it does provide a timely reminder about something much more important — your smoke alarms.

🚨 Smoke alarms have a recommended service life of around 10 years. If yours are getting on in age, damaged, not working correctly, or you simply can’t remember the last time they were checked, now is a great time to do something about it.

✅ Check your smoke alarms
✅ Test them regularly
✅ Replace batteries where required
✅ Check the manufacture/replacement date
✅ Replace smoke alarms that have reached 10 years of age

Don’t wait for your own “invisibility cloak” to stop working before finding out something needs attention.

Smoke alarms save lives — but only if they work properly. Here’s how to make sure yours do:

✅ Test your alarms monthly by pressing the button until they beep
🔋 Replace the batteries every year
📅 Swap out the whole alarm every 10 years — even if it still works
🧽 Clean them every 6 months to keep dust and cobwebs from interfering

Today, Fire and Rescue NSW Station 392 had the opportunity to deliver a practical kitchen fire safety demonstration for local Year 11 students completing their Certificate III in Retail and currently studying a Work Health and Safety unit.

This hands-on demonstration gave students a real-world look at how quickly a small kitchen incident can become extremely dangerous, especially when oil or fat is involved.

Students learnt about:

🔥 Common causes of kitchen fires
🚫 Why you should never use water on an oil or fat fire
🧯 The correct use of fire blankets and extinguishers
🚨 When to evacuate and call Triple Zero
✅ How this links directly to workplace safety, hazard identification and risk control

It was a great opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-life emergency response and show students how important WHS knowledge is, not only in the workplace but also at home.

A big thank you to the students and staff for their enthusiasm, questions and commitment to learning how to stay safe.

Fire safety starts with education — and today’s students were outstanding.
