A simple question can make a real difference — especially for those working in high-pressure environments like our incredible team here at St John Newman.

Emergency service workers, including paramedics, police, and firefighters, experience suicidal thoughts more than twice as often as the general population, according to Beyond Blue’s Answering the Call study. But there’s good news: strong social support and resilience can significantly reduce those risks.
The ‘Are They Triple OK?’ campaign provides tools to help you confidently ask the question that could change a life.

Asking “Are you OK?” can have a real impact — not just in our community, but right here in our workplace. Whether you’re a team leader, colleague, or new to the crew, we all play a part in creating a culture where people feel safe to speak up, ask for help, and support one another.

Beyond our legal responsibility to provide a safe and healthy work environment, it’s these human conversations that can truly change — or even save — lives.
