🌊 Margie Sheedy Sea Pool (Ulladulla Sea Pool) is getting ready to welcome swimmers back for the season!

👋 Meet the Team - Abigail

We’re excited to introduce Abigail, a valued member of our swim school team.

Abigail brings a great mix of experience and qualifications to the pool, including:

The AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety course is coming to Ulladulla Leisure Centre on 12 & 13 September 2026.

This nationally recognised course is ideal for anyone looking to start a career in aquatic education, retrain for a new role, or build skills for flexible, rewarding work in the community.

Participants will gain practical training in swimming and water safety teaching, lesson planning, safe supervision, and rescue and emergency response skills.

💙 WORLD DROWNING PREVENTION WEEK WRAP-UP 💙

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped raise awareness during World Drowning Prevention Week.

Whether you attended lessons and learnt a new life skill, started conversations at reception or on the pool deck, wore blue to your lesson, or joined in with our colouring and activity sheets, every little action helped make a difference.

We’re so grateful to our amazing staff, swim instructors and members who got involved and helped make the week such a success.

💙 World Drowning Prevention Week 💙

It’s been a big week at Ulladulla Leisure Centre, with our swimmers learning important water safety skills in and around the pool.

From checking safety signage, to jumping in with life jackets, floating on their backs and watching CPR demonstrations, there’s been lots of valuable learning across the centre.

There’s still plenty happening as we build towards World Drowning Prevention Day on Saturday 25 July.

Every one of these moments helps build confidence, awareness and safer habits around water.

💙 DROWNING PREVENTION AWARENESS WEEK 💙

From Monday 20 to Saturday 25 July, Ulladulla Leisure Centre is supporting World Drowning Prevention Day with a week of activities focused on water safety and drowning prevention.

Throughout the week, we’ll share important safety messages with almost 1,000 students - from our baby classes through to school-aged lessons and squads.

🔵 GO BLUE

Students are encouraged to wear something blue to their swimming lesson. It could be a blue swimming cap, a ribbon in their hair or even some blue zinc.

🏊 FREE SWIM ASSESSMENTS

Free assessments will be available for new school-aged swimmers from 4pm to 6pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Our qualified team will assess your child’s current swimming ability, provide feedback and discuss how they can continue building their skills, confidence and safety around water.

❤️ CPR AND DRSABCD DEMONSTRATIONS BY COACHES

Students in Level 6, Level 7, and our squad programs will learn about the DRSABCD action plan and observe CPR demonstrations by our coaches using training manikins.

Students interested in learning CPR and related courses will be directed to Royal Life Saving Australia.

🎨 ACTIVITIES AND WATER-SAFETY EDUCATION

Colouring-in and activity sheets will be available from reception, while educational flash cards will be used during lessons to help children recognise hazards and make safer choices around pools, beaches and local waterways.

World Drowning Prevention Day is observed on Saturday 25 July. Every action, big or small, can help prevent drowning and create a safer community around water.
