💛 R U OK? DAY – THURSDAY 10 SEPTEMBER 💛

This Thursday, our school community is coming together for R U OK? Day, with several special events.

🚶‍♀️ WALK & TALK TO SCHOOL!
Staff, students and families are all welcome! Join us at one of our meeting points and walk & talk together on the way to school:

📍 Mollymook Surf Club – 8:15am
📍 Ex-Servos – 8:15am
📍 Village Drive Reserve – 8:30am
📍 The Harbour – 8:40am
📍 Leisure Centre – 8:45am

🔥 FREE BBQ BREAKFAST – 8:30am
Head to school for a free BBQ breakfast before the school day begins. Everyone is welcome!

💛 WEAR YELLOW & SUPPORT NEPAL
Show your support by wearing something yellow and help brighten our school. We’ll also be raising funds to support communities affected by the Nepal floods. Bring a gold coin donation on the day, with donations going towards the Emergency Action Alliance Nepal Floods Appeal.

🏂❄️ Snowsports Success for UPS! ❄️🏂

What an incredible season for our Ulladulla students, competing at the NSW/ACT State Championships and the Australian Interschools National Championships at Perisher!

🥈State Silver – Ula & Nina in Snowboard Cross
🇦🇺 National Silver – Ula, Nina & Lyndie in Snowboard GS Teams

There were also some fantastic individual national results, including Ula 9th, Nina 11th, Jed 18th and Lyndie 30th in their respective events.

A huge congratulations to Ula, Nina, Lyndie, Jed, Clay, Mataya, Clara and Archer on an outstanding State season! 👏🏂 Plus a huge list of amazing students who competed in the earlier rounds of the snow sports competitions.

We’re incredibly proud to see our UPS students competing and achieving at such a high level. What a season! 💙❄️

🔬🧪 SCIENCE WEEK AT UPS! 🧪🔬

Science Week was a school-wide celebration of curiosity, creativity and getting stuck into some seriously fun science!

🧪 Kindergarten explored balloon rockets, sticky ice, dancing sultanas and lava lamps!

👩‍🔬 Stage 1 became scientists for the day, experimenting with turmeric and celery, creating garden creatures, making playdough and a science scavenger hunt!

🌡️ Stage 2 investigated States of Matter through clouds in a jar, balloon and bicarb experiments and the delicious highlight… ice cream in a jar! 🍦

🦎 Stage 3 explored animal and plant adaptations, creating some brilliant plasticine models of animals and even some amazing anatomical heart creations! ❤️

What a fantastic week of wondering, predicting, experimenting and discovering! 💡

🌱🐝 Our Permaculture Garden is Buzzing! 🐝🌱

Our outdoor learning space has been a hive of activity, with classes across the school gardening, harvesting, observing seasonal changes and even trying new veggies! 🥬✨

Kindergarten recently harvested and taste-tested yacon - a crunchy root vegetable with a delicious apple-and-pear-like flavour! 🍎🍐

Meanwhile, 1P have been busy observing how the garden changes as the seasons shift, watching plants grow and discovering all the life within our garden beds. 🌻🐛

How lucky are we to have our very own thriving outdoor learning space right here at UPS! 💚🌿

📚It’s a BIG week at UPS!📚
We’re celebrating Book Week & Education Week with a very special day this Thursday! 🎉

🎭 Classroom visits: 10:15–11:00am
🧺 Picnic lunch: 11:00–11:45am with a FREE sausage sizzle! 🌭
📚 K–6 Book Parade: from 12:00pm

This year’s Book Week theme is “Symphony of Stories” 🎶📖 and we cannot wait to see the incredible costumes our students bring to life!

Come along, visit classrooms, share lunch with us and celebrate the wonderful learning happening across our school. We’d love to see as many families as possible! 💙
