Last Friday our girl’s touch team played in the PSSA touch knockout at Lennox Head. Our first game was against a tough Southern Cross team.. the score fluctuated and as the whistle ended the game was a 3 all draw. It then went to a drop off down to 3 on 3. We were unlucky not to score, but could not prevent Ballina from getting a touchdown. Our next game was against Lennox Head.. the pace was fast and furious and we went down 5-3. The team combined well across the park, led by Frankie, Savannah,Heidi and Billie.. the team played well above my expectations and I am so very proud of them all. Thanks to Christie and Amanda for their support. Ms Zam

Tomorrow at 9:30am in the school hall, our brilliant spellers will take the stage for the School Spelling Bee! 🐝

Stage 3 students will kick off the competition, followed by our enthusiastic Stage 2 spellers. It’s going to be an exciting morning filled with learning, fun, and plenty of word power! 💪📖

Our premier's debating team had their first debate today against Broadwater PS. It was great to see all the hard work they put in over the last month during our training sessions paid off! The debating divas not only won the debate, convincing the adjudicator that schools should not have a four-day week, they also worked beautifully together as a team, supporting and helping each other. Well done! Our next debate will be in two weeks time against Eltham PS.

Today, our school came together for a special assembly to recognise National Sorry Day. We honoured the Stolen Generations as survivors of forced child removals, acknowledging the profound strength, courage, and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Through this important reflection, we recognise that healing begins when we say sorry and face our shared history together.

We were deeply moved by the heartfelt and powerful words of three of our Aboriginal senior students, who led the assembly with reverence and pride. Their voices reminded us all of the importance of respect, understanding, and unity on this significant day.

As a school community, we recommit to walking together in truth and reconciliation.

Today, KH and 1C enjoyed a wonderful excursion to Main Street in Woodburn.

Students had the opportunity to visit local businesses, meet members of the community, and chat with local police officers, who shared important information about road safety and staying safe in our community.After exploring the town, the students enjoyed playing together at the park before sitting down to have lunch before returning to school.

It was a fun, engaging, and educational morning filled with learning, laughter, and community connection😊
