As we celebrate Labour Day, we take a moment to recognize and honor the dedication, resilience, and hard work of every Belizean who contributes to the growth and progress of our nation. Your daily efforts, sacrifices, and commitment are the foundation upon which our communities continue to thrive.

On behalf of Marlo Perera and the UDP East Committee, we extend our deepest sympathies on the passing of Maria Eva Escalante, affectionately known as “Mama Eva,” who departed this life on April 28th, 2026.
Her life was a reflection of quiet strength, grace, and compassion. She will be remembered for the warmth she shared, the wisdom she offered, and the genuine care she showed to everyone whose path she crossed. Her presence brought comfort and light to many, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Born: June 4th, 1964
Passed: April 28th, 2026
We stand in solidarity with her family and loved ones during this time of loss, keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

While we didn’t walk away with the win, the experience itself was a victory in every meaningful sense. Bringing together a group from Orange Walk East, supporting them on and off the field, and sharing that environment of sportsmanship, unity, and respect reminded us why these opportunities matter.
The day was filled with energy, camaraderie, and positive engagement. For many of the players, it wasn’t just about competition—it was about stepping into a space that encourages discipline, teamwork, and community connection. These are the kinds of experiences that help shape stronger, more focused young people.
Spending quality time together—traveling, preparing, competing, and reflecting—created bonds that go far beyond the game. It reinforced the importance of investing in our youth, giving them outlets where they can grow, express themselves, and feel supported.
Special thanks to Hon. Tracey Taegar Panton for her leadership and continued support, along with all the organizers who made this opportunity possible. We also extend sincere appreciation to Tower Hill FC for proudly representing the Orange Walk East constituency.
An enormous thank you as well to every single person who contributed in one way or another to make this journey possible—from supporters and volunteers to those working behind the scenes. Your efforts ensured that this team could represent the constituency with pride. Thanks once again to everyone involved.
Win or lose, the takeaway is clear: when we create positive environments and stand behind our young people, we all move forward together.
