M2W2 At M2W2, we provide practical support and mentorship to people affected by incarceration. Learn more at www.m2w2.com

We run three programs: prison mentorship, No One Leaves Alone (NOLA), and Hidden Treasures Thrift Stores. Each aims to share inclusive, restorative love with people in prison, on parole, and in the community. Prison mentorship brings companionship, accountability, and an outside perspective to folks in prison—people who regularly experience isolation and loneliness. In a mentoring relationship, pe

ople in prison can build trust and find healing in a safe space. No One Leaves Alone (NOLA) provides post-prison support by connecting people with the resources and relationships they need for successful community reintegration. Participants access support in five areas: housing, health, employment, education, and relationships. At Hidden Treasures people on parole, work release, or Escorted Temporary Absence (ETA) can gain employment experience alongside store staff and volunteers. Store proceeds help support our organization.

Andrew has seen firsthand how faith can bring peace, even in the middle of difficult circumstances.

He remembers mentoring a man who was focused on moving forward, getting parole, and getting out. As the man began to follow Christ, Andrew saw a change. He became calmer, more at peace with himself and his circumstances, and more trusting that his life was in God’s hands.

For Andrew, witnessing that transformation was a powerful reminder of the hope that can grow through faith and relationship.

For Andrew, serving with M2W2 has been a blessing that has strengthened his own faith along the way.

As M2W2 celebrates 60 years, he shares his gratitude for the people who began this ministry and for the opportunity to spend time with men inside prison. Their kindness, gratitude, and openness have made a lasting impact on him.

For six decades, volunteers have continued showing up, building relationships, and sharing hope through faithful presence.

For 60 years, M2W2 has been shaped by volunteers who learn from one another.

After 13 years of serving, Andrew reflects on how much he gained from those who had already spent decades walking alongside people in prison. That depth of experience continues to help new mentors begin with confidence, wisdom, and support.

You don’t have to figure mentorship out alone. There is a community ready to walk with you.

What does a second chance actually look like?

Sometimes it looks like being trusted with responsibility again. Being welcomed into a community. Having people who believe you can make different choices, even when you’re still learning to believe it yourself.

For people carrying the weight of their past, forgiveness can be difficult to accept. But faith reminds us that our past does not have to determine how we live today.

Through mentorship and community, M2W2 creates opportunities for people impacted by incarceration to move forward, rebuild trust, and experience the possibility of a new way of life.

"I was in prison and you came to visit me." — Matthew 25:36

These words are more than an invitation. They are a reminder that Christ calls us to see the people others often overlook.

A simple visit, a listening ear, or a steady presence can become a source of hope for someone who needs it most. Every act of compassion reflects the love of Christ and reminds people they are not forgotten. Volunteer with M2W2 today. Link in Bio.

“They’re just people, and in many cases, they’re just looking for some hope.”

As M2W2’s NOLA Case Manager, Dan Rempel walks alongside people as they transition from incarceration back into the community. He has seen how a caring relationship, a listening ear, and steady encouragement can help someone find their footing and move forward.

Through NOLA, volunteers help people pursue their goals, build healthy relationships, and find a community where they know they belong.

Sometimes, hope begins with someone willing to be present.

Sometimes, accepting support takes time.

Mentorship may feel unfamiliar at first. Differences in background, culture, faith, or life experience can make it easy to assume there won’t be a connection.

But meaningful mentorship doesn’t depend on two people having the same story. It begins with a willingness to show up, listen, and get to know the person across the table.

Sometimes the people we least expect to connect with can have a meaningful place in our lives.

Re-entering the community can mean learning to do things differently.

For many people leaving incarceration, that includes letting go of the belief that they have to face everything alone. Having a mentor provides someone to talk to, lean on, and walk alongside as relationships are rebuilt and a new way forward takes shape.

The transition isn’t always easy, but steady support can make a meaningful difference.
