The Shelters are very proud to share that this fall, we will be opening our second Supportive Housing home, continuing to expand housing and supports available to individuals in our community. This new home will provide supportive housing for two individuals, as well as a recuperative care bed for individuals being discharged from hospital who require a safe place to recover with additional supports.

With dedicated on-site staff, clients will have access to meals, laundry, ongoing resource connections, and individualized support as they move forward on their journey. We are incredibly thankful to Social Development for their ongoing support, which has helped make this expansion possible.

What makes this home even more special is the community connection behind it. We had the pleasure of purchasing the home from the wonderful Evans family, who have a longstanding commitment to giving back and making a difference in our community. We are proud to carry that spirit forward and continue their legacy of community impact by creating a place of stability, opportunity, and connection for those who need it most. Welcome to Evans House! 🏡

We’re so excited to share that our supportive housing initiative that was announced early summer is growing with two additional supportive housing units! 🎉

Clients will have a safe and stable place to call home, with dedicated on-site staff providing ongoing support as they move forward on their journey.

And we’re not done yet… 👀 Stay tuned, we have more exciting news to share later this week!

Working at Grace House and St John House, Transition Planners help clients identify their goals, overcome barriers and take meaningful steps on their journey.

Their support can include:

• Obtaining identification
• Securing a source of income
• Searching for safe and successful housing
• Pursuing employment or education goals
• Building essential life skills
• Connecting with community resources

Every person’s journey is different, and our Transition Planners are there to offer support every step of the way! We are grateful for the dedication, compassion, and hard work they bring every single day in support of our clients and their progress! ✨

The Veterans Music Marathon is happening this Saturday, August 8, in Oromocto from 1:00–9:00 p.m. Admission is free, and all donations will support Grace House!

Come enjoy an incredible lineup of local musicians while helping individuals in our community who are experiencing homelessness.
We hope to see you there!
