On Friday, we received a donation at Grace House from Hilary and Maya, two Fredericton High School Students. For their civics actions class, they chose to fundraise to purchase items in need and donate funds!

Thank you both for your hard work on this initiative, for thinking of others in your community, and for supporting The Shelters. Your kindness and generosity are truly appreciated! ✨

This week, our Counsellor facilitated a Mental Health workshop for staff in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month!

Staff engaged in meaningful discussions about mental health awareness, self-care, healthy boundaries, and coping skills. The workshop also focused on recognizing signs of burnout, supporting one another in the workplace, and strengthening the sense of community and compassion that is so important in the work we do with residents.

Workshops like these are important for our organization, as our staff work in high-stress environments every day supporting many clients in shelter. Supporting staff wellness helps us continue creating a caring and compassionate community for everyone.
