We went around town and enjoyed a few of the 26 unique and creative lemonade stands around GP today. Great job, kids!!

There’s still time to enjoy and with some of the profits earned being given to charities of their choice, this afternoon sounds like a great time to sample some lemonade. 🍋

This week, we recognize the people who are at the heart of our health care system.

During National Nursing Week, we thank the nurses who provide care, comfort and support to our community every single day.

Nurses are often the first point of contact and a steady presence through some of life’s most important moments. Their skill, compassion and commitment help keep our health care system strong and our residents supported.

Here in Grande Prairie, their impact is felt across our hospitals, clinics and community programs. As we continue to grow and strengthen local health care, nurses remain a critical part of that foundation.

During the recent Canadian Wrestling Championships, Grande Prairie welcomed:
🤼‍♀️ 680 athletes
🏟️ 263 Coaches and Officials
🎟️ 1,300 tickets sold
This three-day event adds up to an approximate $2M in local economic impact.
And if you look at the big picture, sport tourism alone has now generated a total of $11.6M in GP since 2024.
This is why investment in facilities, infrastructure and community partnerships matter.
Being able to host on this scale supports local business, creates energy in our community, and strengthens GP’s reputation as a place where things happen.
