Last night, we marked the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America. 🇺🇸

As we celebrated , we also remembered that you cannot tell the story of American independence without telling the story of Atlantic Canada and the loyalists. Our nations are forever linked.

Thanks to everyone who joined us to honor our shared past and bright future.

To freedom.
To cross-border friendship.
To the next 250 years.
Cheers!

🚀 Big day for the Atlantic Canadian space corridor!

🧑🏻‍🚀 Hosted by the Discovery Centre, Canadian Space Agency astronaut Colonel Jeremy Hansen takes the stage at the Halifax Central Library tonight. He will share insights from his historic journey as part of the NASA NASA Artemis II crew - a massive testament to U.S./Canada space collaboration.

💫And congratulations to Maritime Launch Services. This morning they successfully executed a suborbital launch demonstration, sending the "Barracuda" rocket into the sky from Spaceport Nova Scotia.

👩🏾‍🚀This incredible local momentum perfectly mirrors the energy from our recent virtual town hall with former NASA aerospace engineer, Blue Origin Astronaut, and STEMBoard CEO Aisha Bowe. When we brought Aisha together with emerging leaders from across Atlantic Canada’s space and STEM sectors, we heard about how the region is scaling toward commercial launch readiness. The Consulate General remains committed to connecting East Coast talent with trailblazing American leaders who bridge the gap between grit and global enterprise.

We recently toured the Canadian Hurricane Centre in Dartmouth to see firsthand how meteorologists track tropical systems, analyze data, and work around the clock to keep communities safe.

June to November is hurricane season - a perfect reminder that now is the best time to prepare.

Huge thanks to the team at the storm centre for opening their doors to us and for everything they do to keep us ahead of the weather!
