🟡CAT INTAKE WARNING🟡
Occupancy for cats at the Lethbridge Animal Shelter is nearing capacity limits. We remind the public that not every roaming cat requires intervention, and the mandate of Community Animal Services is to address bylaw violations and provide care and housing to found pets that are experiencing distress. If you have found a roaming or stray cat, please keep the following in mind;
🐈 Cat is friendly, social, and shows no signs of distress, it is likely someone's pet. ➡️ Keep it in the area. Check for ID, post on social media groups, and speak with neighbours.
😿 Poor body condition, young kittens, or appears uncared for. ➡️ Monitor the cat, and attempt to locate an owner. Submit an intake request to animal services.
🏥 Serious injury or illness requiring veterinary intervention (i.e., immobile, bleeding, etc.), trapped, or deceased. ➡️ Call animal services for assistance.
All intake of found pets to the Lethbridge Animal Shelter is triaged, and admittance is subject to available kennel space.
