WE’RE HIRING | HAZMAT INSTRUCTOR

This opportunity may be structured as a full-time or part-time position, depending on the successful candidate’s experience, qualifications and availability.

We’re looking for someone with a strong interest and background in hazardous materials, chemical handling and emergency response who wants to put that knowledge to work both in the classroom and in the field.

Who We’re Looking For:
We’re interested in experienced Hazmat professionals and instructors with relevant industry training, certifications and practical emergency response experience.

Candidates who are also qualified or experienced in other areas of TRR’s operations — including confined space, technical rescue, work at height/fall protection, rope access, industrial safety or emergency response — will be given preference.

Developing or junior candidates:
If you already have a foundation in Hazmat, chemistry, chemical handling, emergency response or a related field but don't have all the certifications yet, We still want to hear from you.

For the right candidate, TRR is prepared to provide the training and development required to become a qualified member of our instructional and operational team and serve all aspects of TRR’s organizational services.

We’re looking for people with the right aptitude, professionalism, commitment to safety and willingness to learn — not simply the longest list of certifications.

A new copy of NFPA 2500 – Standard on Organizational Capabilities for Technical Search and Rescue and Life Safety Rope and Equipment for Emergency Services arrived today.

Along with it was a letter recognizing TRR’s Colin LeGrow for the contribution as a member of the Technical Committee on Technical Search and Rescue.

Participation in standards development helps us do better work for our clients.

Standards establish important requirements and benchmarks. Knowing what a standard says and understanding how to apply it effectively is not always the same thing.

Participation gives us greater familiarity with the discussions, context and considerations behind the requirements.

We bring that knowledge back through our instructor development, rescue planning, training programs, equipment decisions and the advice we provide.

It also reinforces an important point we strongly believe in - Standards Compliance is the starting point—not the finish line.

A standard cannot anticipate every scenario. Safety and rescue planning still requires competent people to understand the task assess the actual risks, and determine where additional controls, equipment, practice or focused training may be warranted.

There is a cost to maintaining this level of involvement. It requires time away from operations, ongoing professional development and investment in our people.

We recognize that this involvement is made possible by the support of our clients and our crew. Every client who chooses TRR helps support the time and resources required for us to participate in standards development, continually develop our people and contribute back to the industry. Thank you for making that possible.

That investment is reflected in the value we offer.

Our clients aren't simply paying for an instructor, rescue technician or consultant for the day. They're accessing the experience, professional development and industry involvement behind that person.

We believe that makes us better instructors, advisors and partners to the organizations that trust us.

We're proud to contribute to the development of our industry—and even more proud to bring what we learn back to our clients.

Thank you!

Work at height, inside a confined space. We’re supporting our client by taking the lead on safe access and rescue as well as providing crew for the work scope.

This mornings pre-job safety meeting. Bringing together all work parties and an awesome view. Collaborating with all involved to review the hazards and controls. The view is a bonus.
