In March alone, Sandra and her mini crew washed and sorted almost 5000 lunch bags. Lucy has been helping to sort the lunch bags for 4 years now. She loves to find all the matching ones and sets them in piles of 10. Now she is training her brother, Kasey.

VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK
We are grateful to all who help our lunch program run smoothly. From Anglophone South School District who provides a great space and the staff who help when need, PALS - Partners Assisting Local Schools, who work with J.D. Irving, Limited to deliver the lunches to the schools, to the VTC-Vocational Training Center, which brings their participants 4 mornings a week, to help where they can, to our prep and packing crew and the behind-the-scenes cooler pick up crew and those who wash all those lunch bags, we couldn't do it without you!

Loved having Zoe Watson from the NB Children's Foundation come and visit us last week. The monies received help pay for our subsidized lunches for 3 of our schools.

New Year, New You!
Are you looking to make some changes this year? Give some time to your community? Help kids?

We can help! We are looking for volunteers to help our Lunch Connection program.
We run a lunch program on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This year, we work with 10 schools and between 450 and 525 a day lunches depending on the day.

We have teams of volunteers who do food prep and pack the lunches. This is all done out of our HUB Kitchen, located at 490 Woodward Ave in the Millidgeville North School/ Anglophone School District Office.

We are always looking for help.
Mondays & Tuesdays from 1-3 pm food prep
Tuesday, Wed, and Thursday 8:30 am-11 am: lunch bag packing & food prep.
If you would like to come for a visit to see the teams in action, we can certainly figure out a time that works for you.

We have been setting aside all the Christmas/winter-themed bags to give out for the last day of Lunches before the Christmas break. Today, we sent out 420 lunches in those bags.

Tomorrow is bagel day for the lunches, today we had Mark and Claire from the VTC-Vocational Training Center helping us cut 3 cases of bagels. The VTC brings participants 4 days a week to help prepare the lunches. We love our partnership with them.
