New Blood is a theatre piece using music, movement and poetry to tell the story of our indigenous students’ grandparents’ experiences growing up. We are looking for indigenous and non-indigenous students who are interested in performing or behind the scenes to participate in this show. There will be an information meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 1 in the SHS theatre from 3:20-4:30. For more information please email [email protected].

Thank you to everyone who showed up for the SHS alumni cabaret! Thank you to Evan Lloyd for organizing it and to Amelia Bradford, Sarah Taylor, Isaac Taylor, Ray Laycock, Kyler Leger, Ini Ajirirelojah and Loralee Laycock for a wonderful concert. They raised $700 towards new lights for the theatre! Thank you to everyone who came out!

Deanne Bertsch has spent 24 years teaching at Strathmore High School, helping students build confidence and find their voices.

Through theatre, Bertsch gives students the opportunity to share their stories on stage, strengthening the connection between performers and audience.
