Surrey deserves a stronger voice at Metro Vancouver — and better value for taxpayers.

Linda Annis and Surrey First will push for a smaller, more efficient Metro Vancouver focused on accountability, responsible spending and delivering the services residents actually need.

That means:

🔹 Fewer politicians
🔹 Lower costs
🔹 Ending meeting fees for Metro Vancouver board members
🔹 Greater accountability for how taxpayer dollars are spent

It’s time to change the way business is done and put taxpayers first.

📹 LET’S TALK TRAFFIC CAMERAS IN SURREY.

Traffic cameras can be more than a tool for monitoring congestion. With the right policies, safeguards and partnerships in place, they can help police respond to serious incidents, support investigations and improve public safety across our city.

Surrey is growing — and keeping our roads and neighbourhoods safe means using the tools and technology already available to us more effectively.

Surrey First believes we should have a serious conversation about how Surrey’s traffic-camera network can better support public safety while maintaining appropriate privacy protections and accountability.

We want to hear from you:

Should Surrey Police have greater real-time access to traffic cameras when responding to crimes and serious incidents?

Share your thoughts in the comments.

Hate has no place in Surrey.

I strongly condemn the hateful incident at the Fleetwood Islamic Centre over the weekend.

I have been a regular visitor to this community over the past four years, and I know the people here. I stand with them during these difficult days and want them to know they are not alone.

An attack directed at any faith community affects all of us. Today, it is an Islamic Centre. Tomorrow, it could be another mosque, church, temple, gurdwara, synagogue or place of worship.

Surrey is one of Canada’s most diverse communities, and that diversity is one of our greatest strengths. There is no place here for bigotry, hatred or intimidation.

We must stand together, speak out against hate whenever we see it, and continue building a city where every person can worship, live and raise their family without fear.
Surrey is stronger when we look out for one another and respect every faith and every neighbour.
