We’re introducing a new funding program for source water protection projects in rural, northern and Indigenous communities.

Ontario is now accepting applications for its new Best Practices for Source Water Protection Program, which will help communities develop local plans to protect drinking water sources in areas where provincial source water protection planning is not already in place.

Eligible organizations can apply for funding consideration for their project now until 5 p.m. ET on November 27, 2026.

Applications for Ontario’s Great Lakes Local Action Fund program are now open!

Ontario is investing up to $1.8 million in community-based projects that protect or improve Great Lakes ecosystems

Eligible projects offer innovative, local solutions to Great Lakes challenges such as restoring wetlands and shorelines, reducing plastic pollution, and/or improving aquatic habitats.

Since 2021, Ontario has committed $5.5 million through the fund to support 107 projects in communities across the province.
