A big thank you to La Fondation Emmanuelle Gattuso! 💚

When our trucks were targeted by theft, La Fondation Emmanuelle Gattuso quickly reached out, well before any public announcement, with a substantial gift of $60,000 to cover refrigerated truck rentals while our fleet is repaired. Their proactive support helped us keep disruption to a minimum and food reaching the communities who count on it.

We’re also grateful to everyone who has rallied around us. Generosity like this keeps good food out of landfill and on people’s tables.

Over Thanksgiving weekend, thieves broke into Second Harvest’s Toronto truck yard and cut through the exhaust systems of seven of our food rescue trucks to steal their catalytic converters, forcing them off the road. 💔

These aren't just trucks. They're a lifeline.

Every day, our fleet delivers rescued food to more than 300 non-profit organizations across Toronto, helping feed people facing hunger. Losing seven trucks is a devastating blow, putting critical food deliveries at risk. But the outpouring of support from our community has reminded us that we’re not in this alone. 💚

We won’t let this stop us, but we need your help. Your donation will help get our trucks back on the road, minimize disruptions and keep good food moving to the communities that depend on us.

Help turn this act of theft into an outpouring of generosity. 💚

A few dollars may not seem like much, but together, those contributions can add up to meaningful change.

Last year, with the support of LCBO, Ontarians came together to raise $2.6 million, helping provide 6 million meals for Canadians.

That’s what happens when a community comes together. And it shows that no donation is too small when we all do our part.

From September 24 to October 11, we’re coming together again to support food security across Ontario.

We can’t wait to see what we can do together this year.

🎉 Earlier this year, one of our incredible volunteers, Ken, celebrated his 70th birthday in a very special way: by spending it at Second Harvest.

For the past 15 years, Ken has dedicated his time to helping rescue food and support communities across Canada. Choosing to mark this milestone by giving back is a true reflection of his generosity, compassion and commitment to our mission.

We're so grateful for volunteers like Ken, whose dedication helps make our work possible every day.

🎉 What a weekend at RELISH The Foodie Event!

We had an incredible time connecting with food lovers, sharing our mission and bringing a little extra fun to the festivities.

From temporary tattoos and custom newspaper photo keepsakes to conversations about food rescue and our Fall 50/50 Lottery, it was inspiring to meet so many people who believe in a future with No Waste. No Hunger. 💚

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, snapped a photo, got a tattoo, entered the 50/50 and learned more about how food rescue creates impact across Canada.

Together, we're making sure more food reaches people and less goes to waste.

🎟️ There's still time to enter the Fall 50/50 Lottery. Click the link for your chance to win while supporting food rescue across Canada: https://rafflebox.ca/raffle/second-harvest-50-50/
