There is an ADHD information and educational group for families coming up in GP next week. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about ADHD and how to support someone who is diagnosed with it.

💙 ADHD Parent & Caregiver Support Group Update 💙

We wanted to reach out to our community for a little feedback.

As many of you know, we have been offering a free ADHD Support Group for parents and caregivers because supporting families affected by ADHD is something that is very close to our hearts. We truly love facilitating these conversations and creating a space where people can connect, learn, and realize they're not alone.

We are going to make one more attempt to run the group before making a decision about its future.

📅 Thursday, June 18
📍 Grande Prairie Public Library

For this upcoming session, ate askinv prioke to just let us know they plan to attend, as we will need a minimum number of participants in order for the group to keep running

We are also looking for your honest feedback:

❓ Is there still interest in an ADHD support group for parents and caregivers?
❓ If you're interested but haven't been able to attend, what's getting in the way?
❓ Would a different day, time, or format make participation easier?

While we are passionate about keeping this group going, it is a volunteer-led initiative. We also need to be respectful of the time and resources of both the library and the facilitators. As much as we'd love to continue offering the group, we also need to be practical and ensure there is enough interest to make it sustainable.

If you'd like to attend the June 18 group, or if you have feedback or suggestions, please send us a message. We'd genuinely love to hear from you.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this group so far. We know how challenging parenting and caregiving can be, and we're grateful to be part of such a caring community. 💙

SENIORS, join us tomorrow for a BBQ lunch at the Firehall between 11:30 and 2! Gathering together to share food, conversation, and laughter helps foster friendships, celebrate life experiences and create a community where seniors feel valued and included. These events promote well-being, encourage social engagement and remind us of the important role seniors play in enriching our community.

A worry is a thought or feeling that something bad, difficult, or uncomfortable might happen in the future.

In simple terms: it's your brain trying to think ahead and keep you safe, even when there may not be a real problem right now.

Strategies to help Reframe a Worry:

Ask yourself: Is this a fact or a fear?

Focus on what you can control instead of what you can't.

Challenge negative thoughts by looking for evidence that supports and contradicts them.

Consider another perspective: What would you tell a friend who had the same worry?

Replace "What if?" with "What can I do?"

Look for the most likely outcome, not just the worst-case scenario.

Break big worries into small, manageable steps.

Remember past successes and challenges you have already overcome.

Practice self-compassion and speak to yourself with kindness.

Focus on the present moment rather than predicting the future.

Here's a Reframing example:

Instead of "I'm going to fail," try "I may face challenges, but I can prepare and do my best."
