This Saturday is Yeats Day which marks the birthday of renowned Irish poet and Nobel laureate, W.B. Yeats

We spoke with his granddaughter, harpist and long-term Danish resident Caitríona Yeats on her heritage, her career as a harpist and making Denmark her home.

We were delighted to have students from the Queens Global Leadership Programme, Queen's University Belfast visit the Embassy yesterday.

We had a lively discussion about working in the world of diplomacy, sustainability and climate action and how Denmark and Ireland differ (as well as what we can learn from each other!)

We wish the students an enjoyable stay in Copenhagen and the best of luck in their studies and all of their future endeavours!

Thiemers Magasin are celebrating perhaps the funniest (and most misunderstood) book of the 20th Century with readings James Joyce's classic 1922 novel Ulysses.

Ambassador O’Sullivan will read the first passage and anyone else who would like to read should contact [email protected] – no expert insights needed and readers will be rewarded with a glass of Irish whiskey!

You're invited to the 2026 Bloomsday Family Picnic on Saturday 20 June at 14.00 🌞

Guests can expect expect a light lunch, Bloomsday-themed entertainment including readings of small extracts from Ulysses in authentic Irish accents (and possibly some Danish ones too!). If you’re interested in reading, please contact [email protected].

There will also be a Joycean-based quiz with an excellent prize for the winning team! 🏆
