As a lawyer herself, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Maija Mansikkaniemi was pleased to join the opening of the Pan African Lawyers Union - PALU 16th Annual Conference in Cairo today, on behalf of the Embassy of Finland in Cairo.

The opening ceremony featured a keynote address by H.E. Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, former Vice President of Nigeria. The conference brings together legal professionals from across Africa to discuss democracy, justice, AI, climate and good governance - areas closely linked to Finland’s priorities, including the rule of law and defence of democratic institutions.

A valuable opportunity to listen, engage and exchange perspectives on shared priorities between Africa and Europe.
