As we get closer to the end of the school summer holidays, here’s a reminder that we will be closed to visitors on Bank Holiday Monday 31st August and Wednesday 2nd September. We are getting the house ready for an exciting new instalment (the portrait below is a clue).
We will be open as normal on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th August.
The Woodland Cafe and grounds are not affected and will be open as usual.

This was a fabulous event last year and Turton Tower are looking forward to attending again this year. 💕⚔️🛡️

Calling all knights and peasants alike! 🏰 Our Medieval Faire is back with a full-day take over of Chetham's to bring us back to the middle ages. Marvel at historical reenactments and striking birds of prey, browse stalls from specialist vendors, and immerse yourself in medieval life ✨

📍Entry is free – simply show up at the gate! It will also be possible to book tours of the library on the day at a cost of £8.50 per person on a first come, first served basis.

What an amazing afternoon we’ve had. The weather was fabulous and it was wonderful to see so many people enjoying the Tower and the grounds.

Dean Taylor is setting up for his play “The Actors Apology “. Tickets are available on the door if you fancy an afternoon of theatre on the lawn. The weather looks great so why not? The performance starts at 2pm and tickets are £20 each. 💕🎭

⭐️Important information - Turton Tower will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday 31st August and Wednesday 2nd September 2026 due to the delivery and installation of a new exhibition. We will be fully open on Thursday 3rd September with something special for you all to see.
This won’t affect the Woodland Cafe which will be open all week.
Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Another wonderful wedding at Turton Tower today but this one was a little different. Paul and Sarah, legally became husband and wife a few days ago at Blackburn registry office but celebrated today with close family and friends at the Tower. A blessing ceremony was performed by a celebrant who is also a close family member. Congratulations to the happy couple and we wish you both good health and happiness for your future 💕

Dean Taylor will be returning to the Tower on Sunday 2nd August for an afternoon performance of ”The Actors Apology” by John Cargill Thompson. Bring your chair and a picnic (and sunshine) for theatre on the lawn.

The Silver School of Arms are all set up and ready for some weapons handling inside the house. Fingers crossed that the weather improves so that the fencing displays can take place outside. ⚔️🛡️⚔️
Regular admission charges apply to enter the house - £6 adults, £5 concessions and children are free (accompanied)
We’re open from 11am to 4pm.
