Mary Funny, who lost both her parents when she was very young, is one of the young people who has previously been sponsored to access education, through our First Steps project in Malawi. She is now 20 and her dream is to become a teacher. We are trying to raise money to enable Mary Funny to realise her dream – the teaching training costs about £300 a term for the next 2 years. This is just one of the lovely thank you cards and pictures that have been sent this year by the children who are supported through our First Steps projects in Haiti, Malawi, Romania, India and Tanzania. We are putting together a group to walk the Birmingham 10k on Sunday 3 May. Lots of people walk this event each year and we will be taking a steady pace enjoying the sights of Birmingham and the atmosphere of the day. Bring your friends and family and join us for a fun day out supporting People against Poverty. Help us raise awareness of the charity by being involved in this fantastic event which brings together over 16,000 participants from all round the country.
