📚 Remembering Slavery and Its Abolition

Today, 23 August, we remember the International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition, a day to reflect on the history and legacy of slavery, honour those who resisted it, and consider its continuing impact on our world.

Our library book display brings together a selection of books to help us learn more about this important history and the voices and experiences connected to it.

📚 Women’s Reading Group 📚

Join our friendly Women's Reading Group at Moredun Library to improve your English and enjoy a supportive community experience!

The group is run by Kamala Santos, a local writer, who guides the sessions to help you grow your reading and language skills in a friendly, supportive environment that welcomes everyone.

The group meets every Monday at 2pm at Moredun Library, with breaks during school holidays to accommodate your schedule.

This relaxed and welcoming session is open to women of all ages and all levels of English. It’s a great opportunity to read together, build confidence in speaking, and meet other women in the community.

☕ Refreshments are provided, and everyone is welcome!
Come along, make new friends, and enjoy reading and learning together!
