Our good friends at Corstorphine Library are hosting this fabulous local author, Flora Johnson tonight! No booking required, just turn up 😀

If you didn't see our previous post, we are hosting local author Flora Johnston for an event talking about historical fiction, and her published books. If you would like to come to this free event, simply come along to the library for 18:30 on Monday 18th May.

May is Local History Month, and 2026 is the National Year of Reading -

We are in the final stages of preparing the new temporary Blackhall Library and need all our available resources to support this work. This will mean that unfortunately, the mobile service which has been providing library services at Davidson Mains Church will no longer be available.

If you would like to place reservations in the meantime, please select another local library to collect your reservations. Customers who have already placed reservations will be contacted regarding this soon.

We’re busy finalising the set up at our new temporary library building at Davidson’s Mains Primary School, and we’re looking forward to opening and sharing the space with the community.

Unfortunately we’ve experienced some delays with finishing the building works and installing some of the furniture. This means we’ve had to postpone the planned opening of the library by a few weeks. We’ll announce the opening date via our website in the coming weeks: www.edinburgh.gov.uk/newblackhalllibrary

Thursday 7 May - not available due to staff covering elections
Friday 8 May from 10.30am to 3pm.

You will be able to return loans, borrow a limited selection of books, apply for bus passes, and collect hearing aid batteries and free sanitary products.
