🌟Meet Kiah! 🌟
Kiah, who is supported by our Young People and Family Support team in Orkney, has been hard at work creating handmade gifts and prizes for the Right There stall at the Orkney County Show this weekend.

Kiah has dedicated countless hours creating some amazing knitted characters and colourful crafts - all in aid of raising money to prevent homelessness.

We are incredibly grateful for all the time, creativity and effort she has put in to support a service which means a lot to her.

If you're heading along to the show this weekend, then please stop by the stall to say hello (we’re a friendly bunch) and see some of Kiah's creations for yourself.

Exam results day can bring a mix of emotions.

Our staff are sharing what they did after leaving school and where they are now. Their journeys show that careers rarely follow a straight line; from military careers, university studies and apprenticeships, to a variety of roles in our charity, each person found their place differently.

We're delighted to announce that our Mentor of the Month for July is Aisling! 🌟

Aisling was the very first mentor to join our Young Persons Mentoring team, and over the last five months she and her mentee, P, have built a fantastic relationship. Together, they've grown in confidence and gone from strength to strength.

P's gran shared just how much Aisling's support has meant:

"Aisling is an amazing mentor. She has completely brought P out of her shell and I'm so pleased she's received Mentor of the Month for her kind and caring nature."

After four years as Chair of our Board of Trustees, Bob Cowie is stepping down from his role. In his farewell blog, Bob reflects on his time with Right There, the people who have inspired him, and the organisation’s journey over recent years.

Following his final Board meeting last night, Trustees and members of the Leadership Team came together for a farewell meal to thank Bob for his dedication, leadership and support over the past four years.

Thank you, Bob, for everything you've contributed to Right There. We wish you all the very best and look forward to having you as one of our biggest champions from the sidelines. 💛

Bobby the Right There Bear's Summer of Sport continued this weekend at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games!

He attended the swimming on Friday and men's gymnastics on Sunday, witnessing three Scottish gold medals and helping to spread the word about the power of a "home advantage". Whether it's athletes thriving with a home crowd behind them or people benefiting from having a safe, stable place to call home, the right support can make all the difference.

Our Community Hub is one year old! 🥳💛

What a year it has been. Over the last 12 months, the Hub has become a welcoming space where people can meet others, take part in activities, access support and build connections within their community.

We are thrilled to recognise Jess as our Mentor of the Month for June, celebrating the fantastic support, care, and dedication she has brought to her mentoring role 💛

Jess began her mentoring journey with Right There as the very first mentor in our new Adult Mentoring Service in 2026. From the first meeting with her mentee, it was clear this match would be something special. In a short time, Jess has become a steady, positive influence in R’s life, approaching every match-meeting with kindness, patience, and genuine enthusiasm.

R shared, “I look forward to my meetings with Jess, she has made me interested in Kirkintilloch again.”

Thank you, Jess, for the meaningful and much needed impact you are making on your mentee’s life and wellbeing. Your dedication is helping to shape the foundation of this new service, and we are so grateful to have you as one of our mentors 🥳
