The People’s Emergency Briefing Free Community Film Screening 🇬🇧

A 50-minute film exploring the climate and nature crisis and how it could affect everyday life here in Britain.

The film will discuss challenges such as extreme weather, food security, rising costs, energy and the impact on our natural environment.

📅 Tuesday 10 November
⏰ Film starts at 7:00pm
📍 Lancing Parish Hall, 96-98 South Street, BN15 8AJ

This is particularly relevant as COP31 is taking place from 9-20 November, bringing countries from across the globe together to discuss climate action. This year’s discussions will focus on areas including emission targets and implementation, climate finance and adaption and resilience.

With COP31 taking place at the same time, this screening offers an opportunity to learn more about current issues being discussed.

We wanted to make local residents aware that firework displays are taking place on Lancing Beach Green on Saturday 17 October.

Please note that this is not an event organised by Lancing Parish Council, but we wanted to provide advance notice as the fireworks may be heard and seen by residents in the surrounding area.

There will be two displays:

6:00pm - Children’s Display
A lower-level, quieter display lasting approximately 8 minutes.

8:00pm - Main Display
A display lasting approximately 12 minutes.

Fireworks can be stressful for pets. PDSA has some helpful advice on how to keep your pets calm and comfortable during firework displays. Please find the link in the comments.

If you know someone who may find fireworks particularly challenging, please consider letting them know about the displays in advance. This may give them time to make arrangements and prepare for the evening.

Christmas Lunch Club Raffle Prize Donations 🎁

We’re getting ready for our second annual Christmas Lunch Club, bringing local residents together for a festive afternoon of good food and celebrations. Last year’s lunch was a fantastic day, and we’re so excited to welcome everyone back and celebrate together again this year.

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve been getting in touch with local businesses to ask if they would be kind enough to donate a prize for our Christmas raffle.

We’re still looking for more raffle prizes and would love to hear from any local businesses who would like to get involved.

📧 To donate a prize or find out more, please email [email protected].

A huge thank you to all the local businesses who have already supported us. Your generosity helps us bring the community together and give residents something to look forward to over the festive period.

DJ Fraser is set to boo‑gie at the Lancing Village Halloween Fayre & Trail 🎧

Now 14, he has been spinning decks since age 9, rocking crowds at Broadwater Carnival, the Hand in Hand Brighton, Bloc Bar Brighton, and now as a Saturday night resident DJ at Babylon Worthing.

One day he’s aiming for Ibiza… but for now, he’s haunting Lancing with bone‑rattling beats 🧟‍♂️

This year, he’s not only raising spirits, but raising funds too. Fraser is on a mission to support his Camps International expedition to Cambodia in July 2028, where he’ll help communities in need. He’ll have a donation bucket with him on the day, so if you’d like to support his fundraising, any donations would be greatly appreciated.
